“Be intentional with your space.  Don’t be afraid to design your home the way you love it.”
– Joanna Gaines

My home is my happy place.  I believe that is because I try to surround myself with things that I love.  For example, I love having bookshelves full of books all throughout my home. To me, having books around is not only practical – since I love to read, but it also makes me happy.  In almost every room I can look at books that I’ve read and loved, and books that I can’t wait to read.

The Joanna Gaines quote above really helped me shift my thinking about home decor.  It isn’t about trying to make my house look like a magazine for me anymore. It’s more about decorating my space to reflect my personality, and surrounding myself with things that make me feel happy and peaceful.

One thing I have been playing around with lately is adding my favorite literary quotes to my decor.  I have favorite quotes that inspire and motivate me, quotes that make me reflect, and quotes that articulately sum up the way I think and feel.  And since another thing that I love is Fall, I decided to marry those two loves and use some quotes in my fall decorating this year.

We were together.  I forget the rest.  Walt Whitman

fall quote

Not really a fall quote, but one I love, nevertheless.  It makes me think about how precious time spent with my family is.  And it doesn’t matter what we do – it’s just being together that makes me happy.  I split this quote into two frames and surrounded it with fall leaves, flowers and pumpkins.  Ultimately I would also like to add pictures of our family around it. It’s a nice display that reminds us how important family is.

I’m so glad I live in world where there are Octobers.  L. M. Montgomery

October

One of my favorite books from my childhood is Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, so what better way to celebrate fall than this classic quote!  But I wanted to do something a little different with this one. Instead of printing on regular paper, I used transparency film and put it in a floating glass frame that I bought at Walmart.  I also added a fall leaf for some color.

Both of these printables can be printed on regular 8.5 X  11 inch printer paper.
